Material: Galfan galvanized wire, hot dipped galvanized wire and PVC coated

The Gabion mesh is made of high quality low carbon steel wire, with tensile strength of steel wire more than 380N/M2, wire diameter up to 2.0mm-4.0mm. The surface is protected by hot dipped galvanized zinc layer. The galvanized amount can be customized. Maximum amount of zinc coating can reach to 500g/M2
Gabion Mattress,  is made of steel hexagonal wire mesh. Gabion mattress are filled with rocks at the construction site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structure.
The PVC plastic gabion mesh is coated with a PVC protective layer on the surface of the galvanized iron wire. This layer of PVC protective layer will greatly increase the service life of the mesh, with different PVC colors. It can naturally compatible with the surrounding environment.

According to the different materials used, hexagonal gabion mesh includes 3 types: galvanized gabion mesh, pvc coated gabion mesh and galfan gabion mesh

Type 1: Galvanized gabion mesh, a widely used type of gabion mesh, has a zinc layer on the surface of the wire, which can effectively prevent corrosion by air and water. According to the different amount of zinc, it can be divided into ordinary galvanized and high galvanized, the amount zinc on ordinary galvanized gabion mesh is 40-60g/m2, and the amount of zinc on high galvanized gabion mesh is 200-500g/m2. The higher the zinc content, the longer the service life.

Type 2: PVC coated gabion mesh, the inner wire is generally galvanized wire or galfan wire, the outer edge is wrapped with a layer of pvc coating, the coating thickness is generally 1mm, pvc coated gabion mesh compared to galvanized gabion mesh, has a better corrosion resistance, the service life of up to 20 years or more.

Type 3: Galfan coating gabion mesh, made from zinc aluminum alloy coating wire, including two types: 95% zinc, 5% aluminum or 90% zinc, 10% aluminum coating, due to the zinc-aluminum coating, compared with galvanized gabion mesh, the corrosion resistance is stronger, and the service life is longer, generally can reach more than 50 years.

According to the different shapes and structures, hexagonal gabion mesh includes: gabion basket and gabion mattress.

Hexagonal gabion basket, which can be filled with appropriate sized rocks to form a retaining wall structure. There is a diaphragm in the middle, which can enhance its strength. Gabion box is widely used in river control, dam protection, landscape and so on.

Gabion mattress, also known as re no mattress, is a mesh box structure with a height of generally 0.3m, filled with stones, which is generally applied in slope protection or laid on the riverbed to prevent the water from scouring the riverbed.

These can indeed be filled with a range of infill materials including; - rock, blasted or insitu, building rubble, or a mixture thereof, by providing a geotextile insert into the basket it can then also be filled with insitu soil to encourage vegetation growth.

The sausage gabion is manufactured from a hexagonal woven mesh panel, made out of gabion mesh 80x100x2.7mm and rolled into a sausage on site and filled with rock to 75% fill capacity and laced together with the 2.20mm binding wire. This is an extremely useful product for founding gabion structures where you might normally consider using loose rock or rip - rap. Bearing in mind that loose rock can be washed away by high water velocities, it makes sense to rather enclose the rock in a flexible woven mesh cage and prevent this from happening, on flecible clay soil foundations a mesh contained rock pack will move much less that loose rock. The product is available with calss A galvanising or with grey pvc coating.

Sausage gabions should also preferably placed above a geotextile layer and individual sausages should be anchored or laced together where possible unless they are anchored below the mass of the gabion structure, to prevent lateral movement under high water velocities.
